Are you looking to add a touch of elegance to your home with new curtains?
One essential aspect of hanging curtains is fitting a curtain track properly. A well-fitted curtain track not only enhances the aesthetics of your room but also ensures smooth and easy operation of your curtains. In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through the process of fitting a curtain track like a pro.
Step 1: Gather Your Tools
Before you start, make sure you have the necessary tools and materials handy. You will need a curtain track kit, a measuring tape, a pencil, a spirit level, a drill, screws, and wall plugs.
Step 2: Measure Your Window
Measure the width of your window where you want to install the curtain track. Add a few extra inches on each side to ensure that the curtains fully cover the window when closed. We recommend, that your curtain track should be10cm above the window, and is longer than the window width around 10cm on both sides.
Step 3: Mark the Position
Using a pencil and a spirit level, mark the position where you want to install the curtains track. Set the track over the window and mark the position of the end brackets, 2cm from the end of the track. Make sure the track is positioned high enough to allow the curtains to hang freely without obstructing the window.
Step 4: Install the Brackets
Using a drill, attach the brackets to the wall at the marked positions. Make sure the brackets are level and securely fixed to the wall.
Step 5: Attach the Curtain Track
Once the brackets are in place, it’s time to attach the track. Slide the track into the brackets and secure it in place using the screws provided in the kit.
Step 6: Test the Operation
Before hanging your curtains, test the operation of the track to ensure it moves smoothly along the track without any obstructions.
Step 7: Hang Your Curtain
Finally, hang your curtains on the track and adjust them as needed to your favour.
